I scored some second hand tyres pretty cheap. Emonly thing is, they aren't exactly the right size but I think they will fit. Can anyone tell me different?
Rear metzler is 110/90-18
Front metzler is 100/90-18
Current tyres are:
Rear battle axe 110/80-18
Front Avon 90/90-18

These should fit fine.

110/90/18 is going to be equivalent to 3.75/4.00/18
100/90/18 is going to be equivalent to 3.25/3.50/18
They should fit just fine.

Better tires than the stock slidemasters too!

Hmmm,, used tires? Second hand tires? What's the date code on the side wall? Not sure I would put second hand tires on my bike without checking the date code for when they were produced. Old tires that look new or not much wear can be a safety issue.

Hate to admit how many miles I put on Used Tires. When I was young & poorer, I would pick Tires out of used piles behind shops. It seems many more affluent riders would change up at the mere mention of a latest zippy tire, leaving ME some excellent nearly new tire finds. I always took care to spot flaws cupping bulges etc. Even rode some K70's with sidewall cracks at ridiculous speeds. I survived, doing my own mounting & bubble balancing.
Now that I am 67, I buy New K70's, & have them professionally mounted. I can get both wheels off my bikes at the same time, using my Harbor Freight Big Red Platform Lift to it's best advantage, & save a little $$ there.

Craig: Sounds too me like u doing okay at 67 jacking up the bike and pulling the wheels yourself...Like to think I'll be able to perform that task when I hit that part of my life..Cheers GM

Yeah I hear ya regarding the second hand tyres but I'm pretty broke atm and really need some tyres. The treads good. The front tyre though has a small section whre the beading is broken, but I figure that being pushed against the rim, she'll be right. I now need to figure out a good system for changing those tyres myself. I can get someone to change them, but I really want to know how to do it. Doing big trip at Xmas and I think being able to swap out a tube is essential.

To learn how to change a tire, the first thing you will need to do is to buy a copy of, "ADVANCED PROFANITY FOR ALL OCCASIONS", by Dewey Swearmore.
There's a whole chapter in the book devoted to removing and installing tube type motorcycle tires and tubes.

And combine it with a course of French. No language is so apt at swearing and keeping up a hint of decency as French ;D

I don't know, you guys... I changed both my B5 OEM tires without any trouble. I watched the three-part tire change video here:

and went to work. It wasn't quite as easy as he makes it look, but I never cursed, not even once! I did get some decent quality levers, though, and protected my rims with plastic folded-in-half yogurt container lids.

When I was your age, I patched tires out in the desert! However at my current age of 71, I'll take the wheels off and let someone else take care of it. If I had a changing stand, I'd do it myself. But I don't so someone else who has one can handle it!
As slow as Enfields are, I don't think old tires are a real concern, other than traction wise. Those that are bad to start with, like Skid Masters, can only get worse!

If they're less than 5 years old and don't have dry rot cracks or damage, bulges from hitting curbs head on at speed or something, they should work OK. If they're older than 5 just throw them aside. DOT says replace by they time they are 10 years old. Anything I own would be bald long before that anyway.
