Title: diamond engine bars
Post by: No. 5 on July 21, 2007, 09:17:27 pm
Has anyone fit diamond enging bars on their electra? The spare hole at the bottom puts the top right in the way of the exhaust. Can I pull out an engine bolt and move it up?

It is meant to be attached to the bolt that terminates just behind the electric starter mechanism, and yes they put the bolt head between the mount and the primary case so the only way to do this is to cut the bolt head and then install a bolt starting from the outside. This will then easily allow you to take it on and off later. The factory has promised to start inserting these bolts so that the nut is between the primary cover and the engine mount, but time will tell.

Hmmm... Do I use the bolt that came with the bars?

I cannot answer that for sure, but I doubt it.
