FYI...
cyclegear.com:
normally 12.99/qt - buy 5, get $12 back (mail-in rebate); final price $10.59/qt. Until 5/31.
Better - Autozone:
normally $10.99/qt - $2 off per quart any motorcycle oil - final price, $8.99/qt. Until 4/7.

I'll definitely have to get into Autozone and pick up some of that while it is on sale. It's $13.99 a qt. at the local Walmart. Oil is one thing I don't mind buying a bunch of at once when I find a good price. It's not like you won't eventually use it. I usually get my motorcycle oil at denniskirk.com. They almost always have something on sale, no tax, and free shipping if your order is $100 or more. To bad they don't have the RE oil filters.

I never see "motorcycle oil" by the gallon - and the per gallon prices for oils that come in gallons and quarts seem to represent real savings. Does anyone buy "our" oil by the gallon?
I guess some guys use Rotella oil for diesels in their bikes; that's everywhere by the gallon (around here, anyway) and certainly cheap, in comparison to the Mobil-1 V-Twin synthetic I use...

This is what I use in my Vulcan 750. I've been getting it by the gallon from denniskirk.com for years. The Vulcan 750 holds 4 qts. I just checked there and they only have it by the qt. now. But I found it by the gallon at motorcyclesuperstore.

I found out an interesting bit about Mobil 1 oil yesterday. Apparently Subaru Of UK has determined Mobil 1 not worth of being used in Subarus and will void the warranty. Something about how the oil breaks down prematurely and causes main bearing failures. ???

Interesting about Subaru of UK. I have been running Mobil 1 synthetic in my 2007 Subaru for years. I have 147000 miles on it and the only issues I've had in those miles were head gaskets leaking, which is a common Subaru boxer engine issue no matter the oil used.

Now that IS interesting. ??? I've ran Mobil 1 for years in many different vehicles and have never had a problem myself, which is why this info came as a shock to me. I've always been under the impression that Mobil 1 was a high quality oil and was one of the best in thermal breakdown.

Same here, Mobile 1 and Wix filters for LS and SBC motors, never a problem related to oil...

Was there no reason given?
Only in the UK?

The only reason I heard was because it was causing main bearing failures. I'll try and find out more about it. And yes only in the UK from what I understand.

I'll be waiting to hear what you find.
Being an old cynic, I'm always suspicious when I hear some illogical comment about some company banning a product that has been recognized as being among the best.
It's also curious to me why a large international company would only ban the product in one
Country while their product is sold in dozens of Countries.
With the world wide internet being so easy to use it is all too common for someone to bash a product and other people to pick up on their comments and start repeating them like they are fact.
Before long the initial BS is believed by everyone just because so many people are saying it.
