Title: help identifing a bike.
Post by: yfrank14 on December 08, 2010, 01:13:52 am
I have a motorcycle that I cannot identify.
I have been hope posting here hoping someone can identify it.
it says royal enfield diesel on it.
I cannot determine moodel or year was made or country it was made in.
it does not have a vin.
I can read a partial name of the engine.  "GREAVA".
What appears to be the engine serial number "011722554".
Two other sets of numbers on the engine are"033" and" 094".

Bike serial number appears to be" 161252 "or" 161 Z52".
Anybody have idea what this bike is, or where I find information on it?

Well, as the bike says, it's a Royal Enfield with a Greaves diesel conversion engine. Does it run? They were fairly uncommon, but worth owning. (as long as you are not in a hurry).Enjoy!

Enfield stopped making the diesel engine bike quite some time ago, but I can tell you that it will either be a 325cc or 436cc single cylinder 4 stoke Greaves engine.  Good luck!!

henry price (priceparts) in the UK is the guy to speak to , he still builds dieseled engined bikes to order and keeps stock of older parts
