I've just got back my old daily driver from Berlin when I lived there in the '80s, my '57 Zuendapp Bella R201 scooter. A buddy of mine in Ohio who's pretty much the North American expert in the breed was kind enough to give her the once over after her too long quarter century of hibernation in one shed or another. Thanks to him she's running like stink again. The hope is that maybe the wife will take a liking to her. You see, even though she's only a 198cc 2-stroke, once she winds up there the Bella cruises quite happily all day long at about 50-55 mph, which would make her a good touring match for my 2005 Bullet 500ES "Military", who also rolls along happiest at such speeds. Optically it may come off a little bit "Don Quixote and Sancho Panza," but functionally they should be a very fine match indeed.

Right now I'm treating her to a little rattlecan two-tone refresher paint job, but as you can see, time and several rough transports have taken a toll on her rear taillight and turn signals, which were fitted by the previous owner (type and origin unknown). Since I know that many of you have yanked the various OEM lamps from your Enfields in favor of better gear, if you happen to have pretty much any type of rear lamp or turn signals (front or rear) gathering dust on a shelf somewhere, please do drop me a line through the Forum (https://forum.classicmotorworks.com/index.php?action=profile;u=15872). I honestly don't even care if it's from an Enfield. Anything you think might work, judging from the pix below, would also be very welcome:

Actually, I do see them from time to time on eBay. One issue with finding one is the spelling of "Zuendapp". In German it's far more commonly spelled with an umlaut, those two dots over the "u" in this case, so beloved of Metal bands. Sadly, I can't really show you one here. If I tried to toss one into our "new and improved" forum system, or pretty much any other special characters, I'd only get an error message for my trouble. I really wish they'd fix that. (https://forum.classicmotorworks.com/index.php/topic,26507.msg303910.html#msg303910) One can also search for the technically misspelled "Zundapp". Or just "Bella scooter". They're out there...
Here's a promising Bella (https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/mcy/d/1957-zundapp-bella-r153/6715272027.html) in Stockton, California.
