These days there is an astounding amount of information and "facts" to support every side of every argument. I think a lot of times people are influenced heavily by opinion masquerading as the truth. People want to believe something and find a mouthpiece to support what they want to hear It is hard to know what to believe anymore with bloggers and columnists and talk show hosts all competing for your attention (which to them is your dollar) Dangerous times

There's no Sgt. Friday anymore.  The "News" media slants everything to a point of view and juggles facts, or avoids facts, to do so.  The others, well, does the ability to type make a blogger any better source than the guy at the barber shop?

Ahh... perhaps something we all can agree on?

Fox News: the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

CNN: same thing...

 :(

Here is another expose by Matt Taibi. Its a relatively long piece but very informative.

It doesn't end well.

The truth is that the government is not authorized to "bail out" bankrupt(and criminal) corpoations. It is acting outside its authority in almost everything it does. Those who oppose these abuses of power are now called "extremists", and probably soon to be called "terrorists", with the full power and weight of the federal gov't brought down on them, including violent force in some circumstances.

They have run this nation bankrupt with their spending to enrich themselves and their cronies, and are sticking us with the bills.

There is no way that this ends well.

We get these kind of stories in the UK papers every few weeks:

http://www.theguardian.com/business/2014/nov/03/hsbc-warns-378m-potential-forex-rigging-fine

http://www.theguardian.com/business/2013/dec/11/lloyds-banking-group-fined-misselling-scandal

All are agreed that somebody did something very bad but nobody every does any jail time.

IMO, getting political information from Rolling Stone magazine is about as bad as getting it from Comedy Central.

That article was read over the air by Michael Savage, when it was published.
Back in June 8, 2010 Dr Simon Johnson addressed a meeting of MIT grads of the DC area at the Army-Navy Country Club in Arlington. In his talk he revealed that there is no evidence to support what Geitner and Summers are saying.
From my 'report', "Prof. Johnson sought out alumni of MIT. He did not ‘reach out through the media’. He asked the people in front of him to take these views to the public, to be an influence of good for the benefit of the public."
He made no effort to speak to anyone in the administration or the media.
I suggest it is better to judge the content of a message than to simply reject it out of hand, because of its origin. "No one is any good" is a philosophy that harbors indifference, complacency and a closed mind.
Whatever else Rolling Stone has done, on one day, they published a brilliant article.
