Title: primary chain

In the primary chain...specifically the rollers...each roller has a fine line across it...is this part of a seam of some sort durin manufacturing of each roller?...meaning is it actually a wrapped flat piece.. and I am seeing the end points?...or is it a crack that the youtube video guy hoohoblin was talking about...his rollers actually spread apart and cracked...forcing replacement....will get a pic....

also is the small primary chain sprocket on engine shaft side directional?...forgot to mark it...
