If this is an example on video of something they seem to be proud of, no wonder they are losing in UKRAINE on a large scale IMHO

Compare that interior to a German Leopard tank interior and firing practice of a Danish crew: https://youtu.be/ovO9MwX5LlU

Doesn't seem like something you'd want to voluntarily put on the battlefield, maybe if you HAD to, but...makes you wonder about the decision makers. A lot like US industry, the "deciders" seem pretty disconnected from the end product.

I suppose the T34's must have been allowed to roll through Berlin in 1945 because they've been optically so appealing.  ;)

There was a Russian sourced film "T-34", 2018, directed by Alexey Sidorov that captured the "have to" aspect of warfare very well indeed. There is a big difference between fielding "what you got" vs. sending in an overwhelmingly superior force to subdue a perceived minor opponent. The T-72 in the short was looking like it was crewed by boys more than ready to go home, & nobody blames them. They know they are expendable pawns for someone's ego trip, not defending their Motherland against an invader like their grandfathers did back in 1945.

The Sherman M4 medium tank proved to be both a “death trap” for American soldiers and a poor defense against German tanks.

Trainload of vintage T-34 tanks wows Russians
A train carrying 30 vintage T-34 Soviet tanks has arrived near Moscow after an epic journey that took the tanks by sea and by rail from South-East Asia. Russian families braved freezing temperatures to greet the unusual cargo when it arrived in Naro-Fominsk, 80km (50 miles) from the capital. Russian media say Laos, an old Soviet ally, gave the tanks as a gift. The tanks are said to be in perfect working condition and will likely be used in parades and films. The T-34 played a vital role in the Soviet Union's defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II, and tens of thousands were produced, with many exported long after the war to Soviet allies like Laos.

I recently had to replace my 40 year old crumbling concrete septic tank with a new one, I had it pumped so I could crush it up with a backhoe and haul it off. The stench of sewage was strong, like any Russian tank it was full of the same thing.

I imagine that Russian tanks don't have much in the way of an onboard latrine. So they likely go on the run between shots at the local wildlife. Just keep your feet above the floor of the tank.  ::)

They did not even have crew heating or cooling of any type. They were also incredibly cramped inside.  They were, after all, just a medium tank.

Yes the T34 was arguably the best medium tank early war outclassing the PzKpfw IV to the surprise of the Wehrmacht.  However they were never great for crew comfort and by mid to late war, even with the introduction of the T34-85,  the allied Sherman (especially the Firefly) and axis Panther medium tanks both arguably outclassed it.

Yea but l bet they are warm tucked next to that engine, of course they don’t seem in them long enough for comfort before they get blown apart, l suppose the reality is quantity not quality.
