Great looking bike and a great place for its debut.

Still wondering why BSA didn't show their new 45bhp 650 single here instead of waiting for the NEC this weekend.

Never underestimate the value of improved combustion efficiency and reducing parasitic engine and rolling chassis losses.

Yes, it's in the UK, to the East of Birmingham, and the motorcycle show starts today and lasts for a week.

Yes, I noticed the heel/toe gear change is in a more conventional place than the Meteor. Looking at it, it doesn't look possible to swap from the Meteor system to the Classic 350 one as you would need to move the riders footrests brackets which are welded to the main frame.

Thx - wasn't 100% sure having left u.k in 91, and was sort of "tongue in cheek " as to why they may want to release the bike in the U.K rather than Italy🤔🤣

Sorry should have said why BSA may prefer a u.k launch over an Italian...

The new BSA manufacturer is based in the UK, and it is an old British bike name, where else would you want to introduce a new bike?

AGREED- however the question was asked early in the thread, hence my tongue in cheek question re NEC👍

Birmingham Small Arms (BSA) were based near to where the Birmingham NEC is located, but the that’s where (IMHO) the tenuous connection to this new 650 Gold Star ends .  Mahindra are hoping to start mass production in the West Midlands but are still trying to secure premises to do so. Hence my original thoughts, why not debut at EICMA and then show the bike (again) at the NEC to a new audience.

I think the new 350 Classic is a superb reincarnation and pays homage in spades to the RE’s of the past but if they don’t produce a 500 or larger version of this latest incarnation soon they could lose future sales to this new BSA.

I’ve owned numerous RE singles in various states of tune almost continually from 1994 until 2018 and would really like to purchase another single soon but I think RE needs to get back in the game and produce a larger single if it doesn’t want to lose sales to this new guy on on the block.

AGREED and all great points in a great post👍 and had forgotten that the NEC is Birmingham so very apt.
Yes I love the look of it and could see myself trading the C5 to have one sitting alongside my Cont I 650🤔 as love the THUMP but just needs a tad more to make me feel less vulnerable on the quicker roads...

I appreciate the video! What are the Classic 350 trims available for the western market?

EDIT: Nevermind, I found it.
