Honda has just announced a new 110cc motorcycle/scooter model that has an MSRP of only $1,807 called the Navi, which they will introduce to the U.S. market in 2022. It is expected to reach California next February. It sounds to me like they are going back to the 1960's with something similar to the original Super Cub, only a lot more refined. That should appeal to fans of the Grom, which are legion, and with a US list price of only $1,807 (and quite possibly a bit less elsewhere in the world) and a seat height of just 30.1 inches (about 76.5 cm), I foresee a grand success of that model with your stylish yet practical working urban gal, certainly in developing lands. The fact that its overall styling cues are a bit "Woke-Electrico," and hence modern, likely won't hurt its sales any. Though it's somehow gratifying to a geezer set in his old ways like me that it's actually carburetted...probably not the worst option for those locales with fuel sold roadside and dispensed from old Coca-Cola bottles, where scrubbing out the cruds from one's fuel system must be as routine as checking one tire pressure hereabouts.

It does remind me of the original 50cc Super Cub, including the two valves and carburetor and even the top speed. The price might very well be comparable, taking inflation into consideration. I think the original Cub sold for $245 and you could get the electric start version for something like $50 more - if my memory is correct.

I found this review of the 2022 Honda Navi from the U.S. press introduction of the bike interesting. It makes some good observations about marketing the model in the U.S. and even mentions that it has a kick starter should the battery fail.    I wonder what the owner's manual says about using the kick starter and how many legal warnings it contains regarding its use. 

BTW, as the owner of a Bullet, I appreciate the design of the Navi's rear fender/mud guard, when compared with the rear fenders and possum scrapers that you see on most other current motorcycle models.

@ #5: A 2021 Honda Super Cub C125 ABS seems to retail for nearly $4K, about double the Navi. A bit more cash & you are riding a new Meteor or a near infinite selection of great used equipment.

Had one in 1969. I was 14. It was a 1960 50cc. It was indestructible . After me it survived 2 other teenage owners. 100 million and counting are some amazing stats. That engine/trans/auto clutch combination is truly stone axe reliable. Even when mine was on its 3rd owner and smoking like Dean Martin, it still did the job.

Will do. Wasn't there a Top Gear that they gave one the "Hilux Pickup treatment"? I seem to remember them dropping one 5 stories and riding it away.
