Title: Help Identify Speedometer
Post by: dreeves on April 01, 2014, 05:13:55 pm
Hello,  I recently purchased a box of old motorcycle parts at an estate sale.  In the box were several items that led me to realize they belonged to a late 1950's Enfield Indian.  This speedo was in that box, but I have not been able to identify which model or year it belongs with.    I would appreciate any help or info you can offer.  Thank you

The 700 RE twins came out with Stewart-Warner speedos which I don't believe this is one the smaller RE Indians used a Smith Chronometric speedo but most of the RE Indian stuff used a stylised script.  It does not look like any Smiths Chronometric I have seen.  I am wondering whether this speedo might be from an Indian badged Matchless?

Thank you, yes the Indian block text is what confuses me too.  The case does look similar to some Stewart Warners I have seen.  Still left with a mystery.
