Any experiences w/wind-screens on Classic 500 ES?

I've seen very few references here in the states.

I always thought wind screens were for wimps until I did some riding during the winter.  I use one I got from J.C. Whitney.  It is on the small side but I think it looks good on the bullet and it keeps the blast off my chest.  There are a few photos of my bike in the gallery.

Hey, Len, I Love My Rig Too! Thanks for the come back.

Nice pics of you bike. The windscreen looks good on it. As you say it is a bit small, but keeps the cold blast off the chest. My old bones don't warm up as fast as they used to.  ;) I will have to look into JC Witney.

I take it there were not any larger ones that would fit? Did it require any special hardware or modification to attach?

Oh, I think there are some larger ones around.  CMW sells windscreens, see http://tinyurl.com/27mvyv (http://tinyurl.com/27mvyv)
 No special hardware or mods to mount the JCW product. I believe this is the one I have, same brand anyway:  http://tinyurl.com/282nah (http://tinyurl.com/282nah)

Len:

Thanks for the comebk & sites. Very helpful. Which dia. did you use 7/8" or 1"?

 I suspect plexiglass polish would be a good addition to the purchase too.

Sorry I took so long to respond, missed this one somehow.  The stock RE bar is 7/8".

Appreciate the additional info.

Yesterday, I ate a throttle cable.  :(  At least it occured in the yard an not on the road somewhere. Gapl53 came down to show this greenhorn the basics of cable replacement. I say that to emphsize how lucky we are to have good folks on this forum.   :)

 Cheers  :{)}
