Redinger Lake to Jose Basin was a 50 mile loop this afternoon. Lots of 15 - 25 MPH putting around sort-of paved twisty, vertical forest access roads, looks like lots of our Indian friends footage. Redinger is a multi-use lake behind Dam #7. It stores water for the Francis turbines at Powerhouse #4, built about 1920. Powerhouse #3, built in 1915, is fed by 1200' penstocks, and also uses Francis turbines. The oldest Powerhouses, PH1 (1910) & PH2/2A (1912) use Impulse units, the newer ones, PH8 (1920) , & Mammoth Pool (1950) are Francis.

Shirt sleeve weather was the order of the day, & the wildflowers were out in force. I entered the loop near PH4, went past PH3, then climbed out through Jose Basin and back to Auberry. A nice two hour putt.
A trifecta of Pre-Unit Bullets: a Red Deluxe 500, a Green Standard 500, and a Black ES 350.
