Title: Continental GT rear shocks

The rears are made by Paioli, marked "Airotek."  They have a reservoir that's separate from the main shock body but is mounted to it at the bottom.

I've tried to find these on the Web, no joy.  My question is, can they be run inverted?

Beyond that, how well regarded are these shocks?  They're not adjustable (damping).

Without consulting the mfr, I would say it is very likely that they can be run inverted. I really can't remember seeing any reservoir shocks that couldn't be inverted.
Inverting them gives lower unsprung weight, and most racers would run them inverted for that reason.

I thought they looked upside down to me too, but doubt I would flip them just for aesthetics....but that's probably because I'm getting lazier as I age, lol.

However they are rotated, they surely must be better than the crappy stock ones that came on my 2010 G5 Deluxe. The inexpensive oil filled replacements I bought are so much better.

Thanx, Gashouse.  The shock you referenced isn't the same as on the GT, which has no adjustment for damping.

Still, I'm gonna invert mine. Don't expect problems.  After all, that's essentially what happens in the GTs exported to OZ, right?  ;D

inverting them probably lowers the centre of gravity by a fraction.

Having the reservoir part of the body attached to the frame gives the lowest unsprung weight. This is what would be best for handling.

 Aaaah ?.... YEAH they do !?   No , wait ?  ;D  And only picked that shock for purely personal aesthetic reasons.... Color  ::) ;)

I inverted the shocks today then rode ~15 mi.  No issues noticed.
I had to clearance the sheet metal upper shock brackets welded to the frame.  No problem.
