Title: Better horn

I have a  small compact Stroble Air Horn (not the long trumpets)on one of my bikes. It sounds like a Mack truck. On my other bikes it was not so easy to find a place to mount this horn. Motorcycle horns usually emit a faint "beep", even the so-called up grades.  The Fiamm Freeway Blaster is more like a car horn, louder and can be mounted anywhere. It is easily out of sight. The are two options low and high tone. Together they are very automotive. Most bikers choose only one usually the low tone. Much better than stock, but certainly not up to an air horn. But better than stock. Cost is in expensive, quality fine and mounting is two wires and no relay.

Hi Professor I use that Freeway Blaster Fiamm Horn you mentioned, mine is the piercing High Note. It is more than adequate for me, & requires no additional wiring or relay, I had one of the Compact Folded Air Horns, but it was a bit bulky for me, & flat wouldn't work without a relay.

Yes, you have to do a bit of rewiring to get the Stroble and their kin to work. And they are heavy. Usually need a stiff mount. I think I'll try the high tone on my next bike.

They say, " loud pipes saves lives", don't count on it. Hedge your bet with agood horn.

It has been absolutely proven that loud pipes do not save lives, but they do annoy voters, many of whom would like to see motorcycles banned altogether.

But the Bullet does indeed need a better horn, as most bikes do. I'll look into that one. My former 1985 Goldwing had a horn something like that, it was red and black plastic. Can't remember the name, but it would nearly blow your eardrums out.

I installed a Wolo Bad Boy air horn (124dB) on the stock horn mount. It requires a relay to work at its potential. Yes, it is quite loud. I don't have good pics right now but the attached ones should give you a good idea on how it looks.

I picked up a pair of REDE horns from Harbor Freight . They come with a relay. I only fitted the one at the time as I did not want to mess with pulling the tank to wire the relay in. It has proved to be a vast improvement on stock and motorists actually notice it. I suspect that I fart louder than the stock unit. I would love to fit a set of Fiam air horns as I always used these in England on both bikes and cars. However the Enfield gives little options for fitment with all the electronics it already carries.

I put one of these babies on

http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUPER-LOUD-BLAST-142DB-UNIVERSAL-AIR-HORN-COMPACT-AH1-/230576424004

Required a relay, but that fits just under the battery inside the side cover....

Now when an old lady in a Crown Vic tries to run me over, I can shiver her f@&cking timbers!
