Title: Mawson's Huts
Post by: baird4444 on January 03, 2010, 09:11:30 pm
It was 2 degrees this morning when I got up. Rather than watch mindless TV I found a blog about an ongoing expedition in Antarctica. It turned out to be quite interesting. On the original expedition they actually used a Vickers airplane without the wings as an air tractor...    all very interesting if you like early history.

Maybe they should have taken an Enfield as well  - Mike

Did you hear they found that plane? It was in the news this morning.

yea, it was the article about finding the plane that led me to the blog. Years  ago I read the story of Ernest Shackleford's expedition and all that they went thru...
another great story if you are interested in the early explorations of our world.
