Title: Engine paint
Post by: hocko on March 02, 2010, 10:21:05 pm
I was looking at the crankcases on the engine, the bike is  black and chrome with the gold trim and the red Bullet stickers on the tool box. I was wanting to colour the lettering on the engine cases red that is the "ROYAL ENFIELD", has anyone here done anything similar and if so what type of paint was used.

Cheers  :)

Thanks for that, I assume we're talking engine enamel here.

No, I didn't use engine enamel, just plain old Rustoleum. I don't think the side covers will get hot enough to worry about burning the paint. If it does, I'll use engine enamel next time :D

I used Testors model car paint before.
Too bad I didn't degrease the engine side covers the first time around.
