Well, guess I’m not the mechanic I thought I was. Rebuilt the top end on my 01 bullet 500. New piston rings, new valves, lapped the exhaust valve port. Compression before disassemble was very low, about 60psi and is now about 95-100. The bike will start and run but kicks back very hard. I have a Boyer ignition. I reset the timing as per Boyer procedure and still kicks back. Runs worse now. Also I have blue smoke coming out the tail pipe as well as a little bit of oil out the exhaust port on the engine. I guess that’s an indication my rebuild job was a fail. Any thoughts?

You're in the wrong forum - you'll need to post this in one of the forums above: iron barrel, AVL or UCE, as appropriate.
