I ask because I am looking to pick up a new Shotgun 650, and was kind of leaning towards the Plasma Blue. However, the only one in the state right now is Stencil White, which I really like as well. I'm trying to debate if I should hold out for, or order, a blue one, or get the white. Color isn't super important to me, and in fact I've only ever had more than one choice once in my life.
Curious to hear what others' experiences/thoughts are.

I knew I would be adding a Tank-Bag , when I got the SM , so I planed on the  Lt.Blue one instead of the dark blue with white sides.

So , what does your finished product look like in your head ?

Hi MM. I really don't plan on adding anything, other than some panniers/saddlebags. I stopped by the local dealer, and they said I could order one in Plasma Blue, and they would have it in a few weeks. I'll probably go that route.

If I was in your shoes the decision would depend on a couple of things.
Firstly, how long is few weeks? 4-6, I can wait, especially if I had another bike to ride.
Secondly, the weather. Would I be loosing few weeks of glorious weather while waiting for the bike? If yes, then I would go with my 2nd choice.

Also if you get bored with the colour of your bike you can always repaint the tank and fenders.  ;)

The wait is supposedly 2-4 weeks, so definitely doable.
And while I will be missing some really good weather, here in Phoenix, Arizona, we can ride pretty much 365 days a year - as long as one is willing to deal with the heat lol. And I am, I ride pretty much all summer.

Does it come a "Yellow" , your 350 looks nice in "Yellow" !  ;)

I can't help but wonder if the "Shot-Gun" seat would fit on the "SM" ?

It would open the Color-Choice up a lot ...

Thanks MM! Yeah, I love the yellow too, immediately won me over when I saw it in the showroom. I love blue, my favorite color, and another part of what attracted me to it on the Shotgun is the yellow accents - all the badging and accents are in yellow. So I'll get to keep a little of the flavor. And who knows - maybe someday I would paint it all yellow 😉

Blimey, with the weather you have in Phoenix I could wait more than 4 weeks if needed. You live in bikers heaven.  ;D

Right? Although when it's 46°C for days at a time, and never dips below 32°C, even at night time, it can feel a little more like the "other" place lol. I don't mind the heat though, so for me, it is indeed like heaven.

I decided yesterday that I'm going to go ahead and order a Plasma Blue one from my local dealer. He said it will take 2-4 weeks to get here, and I can definitely wait that long. I'm planning on having this one for a very long time, so I want to get the one I really want. I don't want to settle only to see someone riding a blue one in a year or 2 and think, "Dang, if I had only been a little more patient." Been there, done that!

So it seems you got permission for this purchase from SWMBO or,  .  .  .  .   are you hoping she won't leave when you bring it home?

Good choice, this means 2-4 weeks of trying to score as many brownie points as possible  ;D

New bike, perfect weather all year round, you are one lucky man  :)

I had to Google "SWMBO," as I hadn't heard that one before lol 😂 I did finally get permission from her, so no worries of her leaving when I bring it home. The dealership actually offered MUCH more for my Meteor 350 on trade-in than I had expected, so that helped a lot. They are a smaller dealer and treat their customers well. Their service department is good too, which is nice - a bit of a rarity these days from the sounds of it.

I am definitely very blessed - although I wouldn't consider 46°C "perfect" weather, unless you really like it hot! 🔥

Good luck with the new and bigger RE! I imagine you will be frequenting the 350 forum less, once it arrives, although that 650 section has been around a bit longer than the 350, so it has lots of good info already there for you, as the mechanics of all the 650's is about the same.

Thanks Dexter! I will probably still pop by the 350 forum pretty often too, because a lot of the useful info I get there is applicable across models - e.g. an aid for "swamp arse" like you posted today lol. And I enjoy the camaraderie as well.  Good to know about the 650 section. It's going to be kinda' fun being part of a group of people who are the first adopters of a model, never been one of those before  :) I've mostly been on the other end, owning bikes that have been out for a LONG time already. Not that there's anything wrong with that either.

So what's he's saying Dexter, is we both need to buy a Shotgun if we wish to continue to enjoy AzKev's company. Fine - I'll do what I have to do....  ;D
