Glad to see RE bringing out new 650 versions. It does appear to be legitimate. If a Super Meteor is as comfortable as the Meteor 350 it should be an excellent Tourer. I also think RE should approach GIVI to develop a monolock luggage system for a Super Meteor as well as a windshield similar to what they offer already through Hitchcock's. Perhaps just a little shorter. Screw the Tripper and include a USB port. Maybe even a super-duper phone mount. Definitely would need super comfy seat. Contract with Corbin? Russell? Icing on the cake would be electronic speed control. What's not to love about a long-distance Tourer capable of running 80-85 mph all day and achieving 60+mpg.? All for under $10,000.00. They do it all and I'm in.
Agree on the seat, tach instead of the Tripper, windscreen and luggage options. Cast alloy wheels are a must for me too. The seat can easily be reworked by Russell though, as long as the pan is suitable to build on.
I hope the bike's weight comes in at least the same, if not less than the current 650's, which is only about 25 pounds more than the Meteor.
We in the colonies likely won't be seeing this for at least another year yet though.
