I converted my C5 to Amal carb from EFI because the bike came with an after market muffler when I bough the bike. It would not run correctly. To fix it was either a Power Commander or Hitchcocks Amal conversion. Went Amal because it was cheaper than a Power Commander and dyno to set up the EFI to match the muffler. Plus I prefer jets and needles than electrons.

Nice bike. 
I considered the Hitchcocks kits of course, and might have gone that way if I'd had a Euro 3 bike.
Our own richard211 suggested this approach and I watched Indian YouTube videos about it. Thought it was worth a shot.

I have an Amal conversion on one my efi 500.
Not seen a euro4 with the conversion before.
Does the cv carb have the throttle position sensor fitted?
What have you done to keep the mil off because of missing injector?

 This is a complete carburettor conversion,  with all the EFI components removed. The Carburettor is a genuine RE UCD 33 (33mm carb used on the Indian UCE bullet 500) with the Bullet 500 TCI unit.

 The TCI unit with the TPS is a really good upgrade, with the correct carburettor during kick starts it never kick backs. This TCI unit also support 2 ignition coils.
 
 Would be interesting to see this carburettor and TCI unit on an AVL 500.

In my opinion  regarding the UCAL carb only, and having actually done it, the performance is about the same in outright terms. Maybe a little freer at the top end...it certainly seems to pull harder up around 80mph, but without a dyno run, it's just feel.

In terms of general running, it's much better. Smoother, with a more gentle on/off throttle transition, zero glitches. And it runs cooler.
Fuel consumption is worse of course....I measured 75mpg on the first thankful. UK gallon that is, down from 85 with the FuelX Lite box add-on I fitted to the FI.
That's indirectly the objective; to get the mixture to a sensible non-emissions based number.
Attached is a before/after picture of the parts involved. You can't see the difference in weight between the two wiring looms, but it's significant.
I could also have included the ABS parts, EVAP and PAV parts!

What did I do on mine today -
A week or so ago, I wandered into a local bike shop ( more a bike wrecker and fixer of older machines) on speck, and there was a pile of freshly delivered tyres ! A quick scratch through the pile, and I was the proud owner of a Bridgestone BT46 for my Classic 500 !
Today, with help, I fitted the tyre. A check with records indicate the now dead Avon RoadRider had covered 13,806 km.  Getting the wheel out was not too big an issue, but getting the jolly thing back in place was a struggle.
I have now covered about 100 km on the new tyre, so could call it scrubbed in.

Rolled bike off centre stand and heard.......psssssss. Found a rusty piece of metal stuck in my now very flat rear tyre. At least it happened at home rather than out on the road. Put a new tube in thinking everything was good and then spotted a broken spoke...argh. Now waiting for the postman to deliver my Hitchcocks order containing a lovely new spoke, and some spares.
