Hello everyone!

I have replaced my front and rear tyres because the date stamp was 2016 on Avon Roadriders. Some may say I am over the top but my reason is because some years back I had a rear tyre blow out which nearly killed me (hit a wall at speed) ,even though the tyre looked perish free the casing was actually rotten, I knew the bloke who had the bike from new so know they were 10 years old.
Anyway on a more light hearted note I had a Maxxis M6011 Classic fitted to the front and Bridgestone Battlax BT46 put on the rear. These look awesome as a pair and work really well together, a nice blend of looking classic enough to look right but in a modern tyre so I am very pleased with the result.
I didn’t want a modern tread on a classic bike so looked at classic bike pictures online for ideas and general consensus. I even looked at new classic tyres which seem like the cheaper end of Asian manufacture in general. Know there are two big brands that do good classic tyres…

So purely out of interest,

What tyres are on your bike? Modern or Classic also what are peoples opinions on this as the online browsing I done I couldn’t decide what people prefer? It seems quite a few go for a wider rear tyre than standard.
I know a lot of you don’t believe in mixing tyres which is fair enough and respect your opinion but for me personally mixing can work very well on lower powered machines so please no scolding comments, cheers.

Mine's still wearing the stock tyres (2021 model) but I'm not real happy with them so once I'm feeling rich (pause for the laughter to die down), I'll be fitting some on road/off road tyres. My Himalayan has some Metzler Tourance, 70/30 tyres that look good and work well on the road and hard dirt and I may chase these next.

I'm running Mitas H-01 front, and H-02 rear.  Got them on both 500 B5 and 350 iron barrel.  Decent enough in wet and dry and nicely priced to keep the moths in my wallet.

Same here, I  have them on my 2012 B5 the rear seems to wear quickly, but what else should i expect on a budget tyre, they are decent enough and have that 'classic' look, far better than the original Avon skid masters that were fitted to the bike originally.
