I’ve always had a soft spot for the under dog…. Royal Enfield has the best comeback story of all time.

Speaking of which, I just saw "Chasing the Bullet" on Youtube. I really understand the passion the Indians feel towards RE now. Sorta kinda like HD in America, but I'm not a fan of HD at all.
The road to redemption is paved by dried bodily fluids.

I've noticed that a fair few of members here have or have had Moto Guzzi mid-size bikes. Would like very much to learn what you all think about them. Maybe one of you owners could start a thread?

Oops, should have checked first. AzCal Retred has already started such thread in the 'Other Marques' section a week ago. No replies yet.

I can’t recall this being mentioned by the folks who saw the bikes at EICMA but it seems to me that the Tour model, apart from the seat and screen, the handlebars are definitely higher than the standard bike. Is this right - do any of you notice that also or are my eyes deceiving me?

Yes, the handlebar does appear to be higher. Looks like there are risers attached to the triple tree.

The forward foot peg/controls make me think of driving a car with no seat back.

I was hoping the Super Meteor would have mid controls like the Meteor 350. That does not appear to be the case. Perhaps a Classic 650 will be in the works.

It's extremely common to be able to swap from forward to mid controls on cruisers (and vice versa). No doubt there will be a kit available to do so, as they exist already for every cruiser imaginable today.

The bike looks like another step in quality except for the foot controls which look like some numpty knocked them up in their garage

I think that the bike in the picture is the touring version with the windscreen, passenger backrest and higher handlebars.

I think that the rider's hat is best left behind in India. ;D
