How does it compare to the Interceptor?

First of all both are fantastic stable bikes with lots of character. Both create lots of smile under the helmet and it would be very difficult to decide for one of them. It's more like they are for different moods.
The Interceptor feels more energetic, especially since my front/rear Öhlins upgrade. The Guzzi is more down to earth and laidback.

If both bikes would talk to me, the Guzzi would say "wow, nice curve, and look, it's beautiful around here". While the Interceptor would say : "wow, nice curve, but next time we can take it faster"

It looks like the new Super Meteor 650 shares the speedometer/Tachometer gauge with the Hunter 350. Anyone know if they are the same?

Probably because if you are looking at a 650cc Enfield whether Interceptor or the new Meteor-  you are likely after a mid capacity, retro, naked bike at a reasonable price and for most people that means Interceptor/V7 Guzzi/Kawasaki W850 .

I'm liking this new meteor, so much so I told my wife I may have to get one. I think the Interceptor heard me though and really didnt like the idea!!
That day she decided to piss all over me, the bike, not the wife, and soaked me in gas on my ride! The clip on fuel line under the tank had come loose and she billowed smoke in anger. I told her she's staying (the bike) and its been all back to my normal love affair since (with the bike). I was so close to being ghost rider that day.

Genuine, boring cruiser design. Seen ten times already elsewhere, and almost looks like a Triumph Speedmaster copy. Nothing distinct.

Too bad, I was hoping for a cool retro scrambler.

I'm sure there are people who'd buy it because it looks like a speedmaster and at a lower price point.

I’m kinda torn here…. I was going to buy a Hunter 350….. but now here is a super meteor 650….. makes me think a Hunter 650 is on the Horizon…. And a Interceptor Scrambler 650…. I can haul 4 bikes on my trailer…. I have 3. I only have room for 1 more

A couple of other points to ponder. Mr. Lal mentioned that changes have been made to the ECU and gearing. I presume that will be in drive sprocket sizes. Also, compared to the Interceptor, it appears RE has beefed up the rear brake with a larger rotor and a twin piston caliper.
Some will find the SM attractive and some not so much. Nice to have choices.

From the “spy” pix the press in India have been showing I’d say what they’ve been calling the Scrambler will be the Hunter version of the 650. If RE follows the same pattern for new model intros we won’t see the Scrambler/Hunter any earlier than Spring 2024 - unfortunately 😏

As a new rider whose first proper bike is a meteor 350, I admit I was looking forward to a simply more potent meteor as it was. But the rider posture does seem much more feet-forward and (naturally) the whole thing being much heavier, with that combination I find myself looking elsewhere for my move-up machine fantasies. Perhaps the Guzzi V7, although I HATE their move toward digital clocks.

Still got plenty of time before I tire of the Meteor 350 and perhaps RE will release something else to keep me in the cult, but ehhhh, this one didn’t do it as much as expected. Perhaps it’s got more magic in person...

And again, same as on my Meteor, I would much rather have a tachometer than the zero use Tripper, to my thinking anyway.

that's not quite correct. You still have the choice, the V7 Stone has digital clocks, but the V7 Special has still analog clocks (and spoke wheels).
