While cleaning offside engine cover (kick-start side) I noticed what appeared to be a ‘sheared off’ bolt which resides in the lower of the two recessed areas at rear of cover? The recessed area immediately above houses a M6x45 bolt.
After perusing a mug shot of a 500 EFI engine it appears this is a blank ( possibly housing an internal peg to fit crankcase?). Mr Hitchcock’s parts schematic clearly shows the M6x45 mm bolt for top recess but nothing for the lower one?
Can someone out there take a look at their offside engine cover (RH side) to confirm whether I have a sheared bolt in mine or otherwise? As ever, any advices gratefully received.
