Ducati Scotty & pmanaz1973, thanks for the advice. I tried this tonight but no dice. So removed wheel, removed right fork, gave everything a wiggle and some threats of sale. tested fork so not that. put it all back together and tightened it all up and further threats of sale and now no rubbing squeak.

I think it was internal in the fork as originally I held the bottom leg whilst screwing the leg in so probably disturbed 'the forks  ::)' Not this time.

Now that's done I can get round to doing the rocker cover bolt seal tomorrow that's weeping.

@ bluesdaddy2 & fxrskrsa, very nice looking bikes you both have there.

Just bought a new filter to replace the stock filter and box setup. Plan is to migrate the oval utility box contents to the air filter box, obtain a small Lithium Nanophosphate battery to mount somewhere other than the stock position (maybe under the seat?) and remove both the battery platform and oval utility box to get a stripped-down look.

after much chiding from SWMBO  ::) and others .....  I removed the milk crate from B5's luggage rack.   :o   Then I went and mounted a blasting-caps crate.  8)

It's a good thing that you are as tall as you are.

That box is right where I would want to swing my leg as I'm mounting my motorcycle.  :o  ;D

I use a black canvas roll bag bungeed on my tail rack. Tail boxes & I don't get along (or sissy bars back in the day) Hard for me to mount, & scary in event of a crash. I avoid them like the plague. As it is when I fill my tail bag at the store, I have to climb on the left peg (bike on center stand) to get my leg over, & my bag is not as tall as a tail box. Would much prefer a generous size set of period Pannier Bags.  Be careful of that tail box.

I just reinstalled the proper C5 taillight and performed an oil change. I also got a decent sunburn, too!

Seat looks really nice.  Is it comfy?

Scotty,
Not too many miles on that seat yet but it does feel & fit pretty good and I love the look. The new seat, in combination with the new shocks, seems a little stiffer than the original setup but it sticks to the road quite well and with my 30" inseam the new setup gets me right where I want to be with the seat height. I lost 2" with the shocks and at least an inch with the seat.  Feels good..........Looks great, IMO

I was thinking of that seat shortly before I sold mine.  Looked really nice and pretty comfy for the small size it was.  Thanks for the info.

Not strictly today 9yesterday) but after warming the bike up pre oil and filter change I move it off the centre stand and for whatever reason in a slow motion affair the bike falls away ........

Luckily lands softly but breaks the right mirror off. Now I notice that neither mirror stem was the same. This leads me to wonder if the bike has gently fallen over before and  bending the rear carrier therefor putting the right side closer to the shock as I have previously mentioned elsewhere. I can't see how it would do this but it's a theory.

That's a very pretty bike, & shock change is a great improvement over stock - one of the first things I did. That big log of a muffler looks to be drooping toward the rear. If you live in a state without emission inspections, it would be my next choice for an improvement. I'm running a sporty non - EFI 1960's NOS Cocktail shaker, that works fine, won't drag, & sings to me.
Best Wishes, Craig McClure
