Title: Front brake pads
Post by: Ducati Scotty on August 15, 2010, 05:11:10 am
I was in a local moto shop the other day and saw some EBC brake pads that look identical to the pads on my bike.  They were EBC 15=135X which are an off road pad not meant for a street bike.  It makes sense, I'm guessing RE didn't make their own caliper but bought one from a supplier that's probably used on many other bikes.  Our own pads I think are the EBC carbon variety, the low end street bike stuff I think.  It all got me thinking though, anyone found any alternative pads for the front?

I think I remember reading last year that a subsiderary of Brembo makes or designed the caliper and rotor on the C-5.

I believe the front caliper on the C5 is the same as the rear caliper on my '05 Triumph Bonneville, the pads look identical but I haven't checked to be sure.

I think we may have a winner!

These are EBC FA 214 or 214/2 and seem to fit some of the Bonnie models from 00-06.  The only thing to check is whether they are left or right.  The difference being which pad has the little 'ear' on it.  And I saw a 15-214H listed on one site.  I think H is the higher performance pad.

Thanks r80rt!
