What was your opinion of the tank rack? Do you plan to add it to the new bike? How difficult was the installation for your front fender plate?
-
tank rack only good for the looks. not adding it to the new c5.
front plate goes on again. already ordered one from India.
last time i just undid and lifted the front guard 4 bolts and loctited it on

Thumptastic clip 8)

Very cool clip - it almost looks like a steady-cam shot!
I couldn't help but notice as I was trying to figure out which bike was running - is either bike running? Is the sound "dubbed"? I ask because my bike, a B5 with almost 1000 miles now, doesn't sound like this. It has no thump, it idles quite high (compared to your vid), and my auto-decompression would most definitely be clattering away at your video's rpm... wish I knew if it was normal or not. Maybe I should make a video...
-
Mine also idles "high" around 1100 rpm (the book spec) and it is smoooooth ..... at normal riding RPMs and loads.
I know it's time to shift (either up or down) when I start feeling the THUMP.
-
Mine hasn't figured out how to restart itself without a finger reaching over to the starter button either.
I'm working on it. :)

Mine idles about 1100 when it gets warm. When I start it cold, it can and does drop down into the decompressor clatter. the colder it is the longer it clatters. Did that all last winter. Quietened up a bit during the summer, but I expect it'll be clanking on in a month or two. I don't worry about it.

good observation. neither bike is running in the video but the soundtrack was taken a few weeks ago from the black c5 with the hitchcock's efi muffler.
the moroon one had the hitchcock's goldstar muffler fitted today. note is louder than the efi but not as deep.
between all three mufflers the hitchcock's efi appears hard to beat.
pick-up is better on both bikes when compared to the standard exhaust so which-ever way you go its money well spent
