These are a couple of pictures from magneto from a 1958 royal enfield trailblazer. Im pretty sure it is an sr2... obviously lucas. The reason im worried is im looking to get a electronic ignition (recomendations wold be great). Ive also been told by a mechanic that the cap has a extremely small crack (I cant find it), will this effect the capabilities of the bike?
Thanks tim

That is definitely a SR2. Weird, my Trailblazer has a K2F mag. Then again, it also has a bunch of other different stuff apparently. I went with the Thorspark ignition of off Ebay, they have a set up listed for the SR1, send them a message and see if they have one for your SR2.

Can you please post a pic of your casquette/instrument cluster? I was told mine is set up differently than most and would like to see what yours looks like. Thanks!

I think most of the Electronic Ignitions require 12 volts from a battery to work. All the parts to repair your SR2 are still available. You may be better off repairing what you have. It's one of the simplest mags made. ERC

The Thorspark you can order in 6V or 12V and positive or negative ground/earth. But, yes, you will need at lest a small battery.
