I've searched and read as many posts as I could find, but figured I'd ask outright. I installed the Tec cam today. All went smooth but the exhaust valve is pretty noisy. The Tec install video mentions setting the exhaust valve to .10 mm whereas I've read others adjusted to stock clearances. I erred on the side of safety and set mine to .23 mm. Those who installed the Tec cam, what did you set your exhaust clearance to and how noisy is you motor now?

I would definetly set it to the tec cam recommended setting. You have set it to the bigger tolerance and it's only going to get bigger still.

Set it to the RE recommended settings of 0.08-0.1mm inlet and 0.23-0.25mm exhaust.

George made a mistake in that video, which is confirmed in the follow up video where he states the correct clearances (although confusingly he changes to imperial....3-4 thou and 8-10 thou).
In the second video he's discussing closing the clearances up slightly fir cooler climates.

I've had my TEC cam in now for 8000 miles with no problems. I use tge tighter end of the RE manual clearances, and the bike sounds fine. You can hear the tappets if you listen, but it's not excessive.
They've barely shifted since I fitted the cam.

Thanks for confirming what I suspected. I'll put some miles on the new cam, then double check the valve clearances to make sure I didn't mess anything up. I triple checked when I set them, but who knows?
