Well, after installing the DNA filter/cover and the booster plug, I decided to put the full Delkevec exhaust on the bike. Nice quality and easy installation, but even with the baffle installed, mid-range torque has left the building. I expected some possible loss, but this was disheartening. I have TEC's cam coming and planned to install that when it arrives. Question is do I put the stock pipe back on with the new can or do I wait for the cam install to see if that improves the power with the new exhaust? Should I be looking to add a FuelX or Powertronics unit? Anyone with similar experience after installing the full Delkevec system?

i know nothing about this but i'd leave the new exhaust on until you get the cam in, then consider removing the exhaust. kinda depends how much you're gonna ride it until the cam goes in.

Engines need back pressure in the exhaust to help with low and midrange power.

Free flowing exhaust’s just move the existing power up the rev range. Which is useless for a long stroke single.

With the baffle installed, I expected some loss of torque, but not as much as I ended up with. Will see what the cam does to the equation. If it's still subpar, will try the stock cat'd pipe with the Delkevic can. Was just wondering if anyone else had gone down this path and had tried the FuelX or Powertronics units and what their results were.

I did the same thing, only it was a BMC filter. Delkevic exhaust. It made no difference except to the sound.

Full exhaust? No noticeable loss in torque? Interesting.

Took the bike out today on some dirt roads and it seems to be running much better than initially after the exhaust swap. Perhaps it took longer for the ECU to adjust. In any event, there is still some minor torque loss up to about 3k rpms, but a noticeable improvement in power from 3k on up to redline. The exhaust will stay on the bike.

I have a full Delkevic on my Scram. Came on it when I bought it, so I can't say if it affects the torque curve or not, but I am plenty happy with the torque my bike has.
The DNA filter I removed. No change. I view those as a complete waste of money.

part of the appeal of the himalayan for me was that we can grow it to suit our desires.  we don't have to simply accept what someone in japan or pennsylvania offers us.
