I took the first Continental in South Africa for a test ride today and the dealership offered me to borrow the bike for tomorrow for an extensive ride. A beautiful machine. At first glance very nice rims, instrument cluster and well specked in terms of shocks, suspension, frame and brakes. I did however notice a couple of quality concerns - a ugly weld on the frame and the silver paint on the rear of the exhaust and around the exhaust sensor. I had to get used on the lower handle bars. They seem not low enough and caused some strain on the riding position and I probably would lower them more. Even with the strong Cape winds the bike handled very well. Not overly powerful - I actual reckon my modified and heavier 535CC C5 got more grunge. Weather allowing I will take it for a more extended ride tomorrow before it departs to Johannesburg on Monday.
