Title: Anyone Interested In A Pikes Peak Ride???
Post by: High On Octane on April 01, 2013, 04:29:31 pm
I've been thinking about taking a ride up Pikes Peak outside of Colorado Springs, CO.  I know there are a mix of paved roads AND dirt roads on that mountain and I think it'd be a lot of fun to get some Members together for a ride.  I'm thinking of planning something towards the end of July, early August and taking the back way up through the dirt roads that the Pikes Peak Rally Race is done on.  There is some beautiful scenery, fun twisty roads, and of course the joy of being over 14,000' in the air for that Rocky Mountain High!    :)

If anyone in the Colorado area is interested in joining me for this, please let me know.  I'm going to start looking into the different routes on Google Maps.  Maybe we could meet up in The Springs somewhere.  I, myself, live in Aurora.  Also if anyone has already done this trip, what route did you go and how long did it take?  Thanks!

I think the Pike's Peak Hillclimb road is paved all the way to the top now.
