That is a serious investment! They look lovely--nice pearly finish. Mirror finishes have no place on an engine in my book. Great work.

Well done, That is a lot of work! I've been lucky, my ocd mate Big Al, who actually loves polishing did mine for me, have you done the ports as well?

I'm really looking forward to seeing that mill together. Well done!
So badass my Enfield's actually illegal  in India. Yet it squeaks by here in Virginia.

Very impressive.

That would be a lot harder work on an AVL/Electra-X top end or even an EFI Bullet, as the factory had fallen in love with powder coating (it's even worse with the new models).

My Electra-X top end on A Proj Too Far has been chemically stripped and vapo(u)r blasted, I might get as far as polishing the EDGES of the fins!

It resembles some Museum of Motorcycles exhibit, it's so pretty. I've noticed with my '05 "Military" that some ancillary parts of my green-coated engine are much less harder wearing than others. So, when the gearbox inspection and original finned pushrod tappets adjustment cover (since replaced with one of those Hitchcocks see-through ones) started flaking, I just buffed the remainder of the green off, leaving a pleasant and shiny enough alloy that I think looks "nice" and complements the general appearance...but not to that "breathtaking" extent of your work. Well done, Sir!

The lockdowns are slowing progress. The head has bigger inlet and outlet valves. The head is ported to suit. It has higher compression 535 piston, new aluminum cylinder, roller bearings, stronger ignition springs, upgraded clutch. Will be fun when finished.
cheers heaps

I am hoping to keep the same brakes. Guessing the twin leading shoes should be ok! Have a second hand barely used newby clutch to assist with the massive power gains ;)

Lots of time! Needle files, metal ruler with emery cloth wrapped around it,
and emery cloth by hand and then metal polish. Also used a a small dremal drill in some areas where I could. unfortunately you just need to have patience and do it by hand over a long period of time while watching TV.

All back together and running.  :) :) :)A few more things to do. The fuel tap is leaking and has been repaired before so a new one may be required before rego. It sounds sooooo good!! Unfortunately it wont pass rego as its too loud so will need to re-install the baffle (at least for the inspection)

I think your work deserves a bigger picture. May I?

I'd dread having to keep it that shiny, though!

Nice! I’d also worry about getting that bike dirty……mine isn’t kept to that standard so I don’t have to worry too much.

But having spent too much time any money on shiny bits for it I have to remind myself that I only ever bought my 350 so that I could ride out in wet weather. My other bike is a very low mileage, ‘91 Honda CB 750 Nighthawk which takes far too much cleaning!

Thanks all! Its much appreciated:) I wont be riding it in rain if can be helped. My VFR is my daily rider. If the engine is warm its ok as the rain evaporates. If cold it leaves marks. Its got some go too!  8) I am not happy with the paint on the gearbox! That may be my next job. But this time only the bit you can see ::)
