This evening's bimble... empty roads and warm air - rain tomorrow.

I would post a picture of our potholed, gravelly, wet and salted roads, but as it is now 5degC at 15.30 and the light is starting to go, I won't bother. :'(

I was thinking the same thing about our New England roads, and considered including the over turned car I passed on my way to the diner this morning, but figured that's a me issue. Glad to see I'm not the only one with issues. ;)
BTW it was 7 (f) here last night, and only about 22 (f) as I type, so count your blessings. ;D

We were discussing that very point this morning at our old farts Monday morning breakfast ride, and yeah, we all wimped out and arrived in cars.

On the bright side ice racing season is here, so at least we're not all sitting around waiting for Daytona. ;D

Yeah my last ride was this past Thursday right before we got hammered by that blizzard. Temps were in the high 30’s so it wasn’t too bad. Now it’ll probably be a while before all the ice and salt is off the roads 😞

The road crews around here haven't been getting much overtime, predictably they went a little overboard with this one, but back in my working days I'd have done the same, so we're in the same prediciment. It'll take a real frog strangler to get the roads clean.  :'(

Yes, but we’re already hard by the mid-point of meteorological winter….

As I sit outside with an 8am coffee and an overnight  low of 30' it's fine 👍 but it builds and if the aptly named "Fremantle Dr" (the relief giving breeze) doesn't come in well... 40's again for a round a week. Perth isn't the Hottest, it's also a Dry heat, and not whinging as, especially through the pandemic, I can't think if anywhere better to live 10mths of the year 😀 however seasons would be nice, shit after 31yrs here I could cope with scraping ICE of a windscreen🤣. Classic as you get older you cope with extremes less well. What's it like, well the fact the Red Wine lives in the fridge and eveything outside burns to the  touch - love to read but for some reason not indoors 🤔 and not a big T.V person, so yup A/C in the workshop as Tipo due to arrive late Q1 and also Healey back from painting- LIFE'S GOOD & retirement UNDERATED👍😊 but itching for a ride or a run rootless 🤔
35 years ago Adelaide was beautiful on those 38-43* days, dry as a bone and sweating would give you relief. Nowadays it’s humid and horrible, 35 is almost unbearable. Rivulets of sweat running down your torso, forget about riding in protective gear. The only time I truly enjoy riding anymore is some of spring and autumn. Unless you get one of those lovely crisp sunny winter days.
I’d rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy...

Lovely blast out to Port Albert

I'm in Hampshire, England. It's a fine sunny morning, but frosty.  I've just 'ridden' the route from Aukland to Port Albert via State Highway 16 courtesy of Google Maps. You are blessed with some great roads and stunning scenery in NZ.  Can't wait to get back out on my Interceptor.  It's currently in bits in my garage (my winter project), but maybe I'll get the chance of a cheeky ride-out on my Moto Guzzi V7 later.
