Title: EFI silencer too quiet
Post by: Sub on April 11, 2011, 08:43:48 pm
Is there a way to make it louder?! It looks all sealed to me. Any tricks out there? Big drill bit? It looks like there must be restricted points before and after the center bubbled out area because mine are getting brown areas there.

I don't know the speifics for this muffler but yup, a big drill bit will often do the job.  Results will vary and if you don't like it there's no turning back.

A better option is probably to sell it on e-bay for a little less than you paid and just buy something else.  Harley and RE both use a 1 3/4" muffler so there are plenty out there to choose from in the HD aftermarket.

Trust me I've bought many exhaust from emgo to Enfield. I like the efi "sound" but just want it louder. I think I'll try the drill bit trick. Wish me luck! :)

Is the EFI at least louder than stock?  Just not loud enough for you?

Ya its definitely louder than stock, maybe 20%?!. I had the megaphone on there, gutted and it was TOO loud, like loud harley loud. I then had a emgo megaphone with packing, and it was a good noise level wise, but not a nice sound really. The EFI has a nice sound to it, but just a bit too quiet for me.
