CHUCKANUT TO SILVER LAKE
RIDE WITH URAL NW
JULY 31, 2010

Ural Northwest is hosting a ride for bikes of all kinds Saturday July 31, 2010.  We will be leaving our shop at 120 W Smith Rd Bellingham, WA 98226 at 8:30am and heading south on Chuckanut Dr.  Our first stop will be at the second lookout for a photo-op overlooking beautiful Bellingham Bay.   We will stop by the ferry terminal in Fairhaven for those that want to meet up there instead of our shop.  We will be leaving the lookout at 9:30am.  We will continue south on Chuckanut enjoying the view and winding road until we reach Bow hill road in the Skagit lowlands where we will head east through scenic farmland towards I-5 where our next stop is planned at the Bow Hill gas station across from the Skagit Casino.  We will leave here at 10:15am and continue east to Sedro Woolley and highway 9.  Our last stop before heading to Silver Lake for lunch will be the Dairy Queen at the intersection of Highway 9 and Highway 20.  We will leave the Dairy Queen at 11:00am.  We will head north on highway 9 through the picturesque foothills to Acme and turn right onto Mosquito Lake Rd.  This is a scenic winding road that follows the Nooksack River and joins the Mt Baker Highway in the small town of Welcome.  There we head east on the Mt Baker Highway 542.  We will head up the mountain to Maple Falls and take a left on Silver Lake Rd and follow the signs to Silver Lake Park.  We should arrive between 12:00 and 1:00pm.  We will provide lunch so RSVP is appreciated but not required.
This ride is designed to be FUN!!!!!  You do not have to complete the whole route, or stay with the group.  We are outlining times and places we plan on stopping to get to know everyone, stretch our legs, and pick up new riders.  Join us at any of our planned stops or just join the group on the road.  You could even just take your car and meet up at Silver Lake.  We plan on spending some time at Silver Lake and taking advantage of the relaxing atmosphere and gorgeous scenery.  We have scheduled this as a morning ride so those with some distance to travel can make it home in a reasonable time if they don’t want to camp.
Optional activities include camping Fri and/or Sat night and a Sun morning or Sat afternoon ride up to Artist Point and the Mt Baker ski area or out to Birch Bay.  These activities will be coordinated based on interest so please contact Ben or Mark at Ural NW if you are interested, or for more info.  1-866-411-URAL (8725) or uralnw@yahoo.com.
ALL BIKES WELCOME!
