I nod to everyone regardless of what bike they ride, even L plates get a nod from me and most of the time I get a nod back (including GS's and HD's). To me it is a basic bike courtesy, just like stopping to help biker in need.

Likewise, I wave to everyone, including cops. I've even been known to buy the local motorcycle cop a coffee from time to time.

I am never sure whether I should acknowledge a police motor cyclist as a fellow biker or if I did they would indicate I should watch where I am going sort of thing !
