350 J Platform / Re: Protecting cover from theft
« Last Post by paulmh on Today at 08:14:02 pm »
In case others might be interested. 2m Abus (Cobra 10/200) cable fits reasonably snugly - especially with the touring seat. I joined the cable loops at the top - with a small Abus Marine padlock  - then slid it around so the padlock is underneath the cover. Pic below.

I know a pair of bolt croppers will get through in no time, but it's a reasonable deterrent for a cover I think. Handy to keep it in place in high winds too!

411 & 450 Himalayan & Scram / Re: New 450 Himalayan or 411
« Last Post by Navy Boy on Today at 07:23:47 pm »
I bought my 411 new in Jan this year and my Interceptor (Secondhand, it's a 2021 model) in Mar. It is my intention to have a test ride on the 450 towards the end of this year once the initial fuss had died down a bit. I did this knowing that the 450 was just around the corner but my thinking is that I can always look to change to a newer bike next year once they are out and about here in New Zealand.

Like many on here I suspect I shall be curious to see if the extra power of the 450 makes it the ideal companion for longer distance adventure rides. All the while I want it to keep the playful nature of the 411, along with the manageable physical dimensions.

Like others have said it depends on what you'll use it for. Only you know the answer to that one.

Bullet with the UCE engine / Re: brake pistons dechromed

Which brake system do you have?
My bike runs with the Pricol setup but my spare calliper is an endurance brand.
The endurance seems to be a better quality product and the pistons are anodised alloy as opposed to chromed steel on the Pricol.

also check the chain tension with you sat on the bike, a tight chain can cause gear changing problems as well as stressing the chain, the chain and swingarm pivot point are not aligned so they move in different plains

:) Sound advice!!
I've checked the switches on the clutch lever and side stand, both seem ok. Gearbox problem???

Could I ask you to try describing the problem again?  Give us more detail. In particular describe how the behaviour differs from your other bikes.

650 Super Meteor & Shotgun / Re: Pannier/saddlebag racks for Shotgun 650
« Last Post by AzKev on Today at 06:07:36 pm »
So I got in touch with someone at Baxter Cycles, and they confirmed that these pannier rails for a Super Meteor 650 will work on a Shotgun 650.

I'm guessing these might not be heavy duty enough for your needs. But I think they will work for me - if we ever actually GET any Shotguns in AZ lol.

Good news from NC. Got mine in today!

That's awesome - congrats! I have a deposit on one, just waiting... (sigh).

Mine does that. Pretty sure it's a relay clicking about 15 seconds after the bike shuts off.
Reason I'm thinking this is because the tone of the "click" changed after I replaced my relays with Panasonics.

Nothing I'd worry about.
