Title: Wanted: Old style tank cap
Post by: edthetermite on September 25, 2013, 02:39:20 pm
I'm looking for an old style petrol cap that was used on the Indian home market. It's the cap suitable for internal bayonet style tanks. The only one I have located is locking and I am not wanting that feature. The attached pic shows the locking version but you can see the underside which has the spring-loaded push and turn locking tabs.

Hitchcocks has a big variety of fuel caps.  NFG may have some of them available.  Find out the part # for the 1 you want and call NFG to see if they have that 1 in stock.

As far as I know nobody makes one. I used one off a Harley that fit. If I remember you have to bend the tabs to fit correctly, but they work.  ERC

I might have one on an old tank out on my porch.
I will get back home in about a week.
Please try to remind me then, and I'll have a look when I get back.
