Title: Newbie from India
Post by: 02Electra on May 22, 2012, 09:01:50 am
Hello everyone,

Thought i'd post my introduction.

I'm Gurjinder Singh, based in Punjab, India. I own a 2002 Electra, the one with the CDI ignition.

It has 34,xxx km's on the clock right now but nowadays I don't ride it much though. It spends most of it's time standing in my bedroom.I dare say it's in a fine condition and i intend to keep it that way. I do most of the minor servicing myself. But i'll need to take it to the expert guy soon for swingarm bushes and steering ball race replacement. Both are due for a change.

Here are a few pics. Yes i like clicking it's pics. ;)

Great guess JVS. Yes i'm from Mohali.

Yes, the bike in room is a royal shocker for all guests visitng our house.  ;D . The days of driving it as a daily driver are long gone now. I just want to preserve it as the production run of this model Electra was just two years. I rarely come across well kept examples. Maybe two or three.

Cheers.

Mohali is very close to heart.

Glad to know that you want to preserve it. But do take it out for some rides or start it up once a while! This is an awesome forum. Great bunch of peeps here.

Yes i do , probably every fortnight or monthly. A 10km or so run just to get the oil flowing everywhere and shake the cobwebs. I'm putting a lot of faith in the Motul 5100. ;)

The pilot jet does get clogged up/varnished frequently from sitting, though.

Thanks Big Cheese.

02Electra:  Welcome to the forum.  Beautiful RE you have there. :)

Lwt BC:  Don't be tempted.  As I mentioned in another post, if you cleaned up your bike to look like that all sorts of bits and pieces would begin to fall off.

Some things are destined to be covered with natures earth. LOL :)

I'm not going to clean mine!

I have a problem that the new old Hagons are shiney. Think I might scratch them and chuck them in the sea for a bit.
