 Roberto Totti of Tottimotori in Italy is preparing an Enfield for another assault on Bonneville, is now offering a programmable EFI module for the Enfield.

The site claims 20% more power that would be impressive!  It says it won’t void the warranty.  I’m sure that’s only referring to the Italian RE’s, do you think CMW will approve it for US models?

Here is the the [EFI] relevant text from  a recent (longer) posting by one of Hitchcock's staff

Hitchcock’s entered a six bike team for this year’s ACU National Rally including three EFi models.

One EFi was fitted with a prototype Hitchcock’s big bore 535 conversion.
 Two EFi’s used Hitchcock’s modified exhausts and a development Dyno-Jet Power Commander ECUs. One engine was also fitted with experimental cams.

The route took in fifteen English counties and nineteen check points, with an aggregate total of over 3,600 miles.
Six Royal Enfield Bullets, six gold awards and all the special parts performing perfectly.

Anyone know if the bikes it was put on had O2 sensors?  If so then it will likely work with the US bikes.  If it's set up for the Indian EFI bikes with no O2 sensor then it's a different kettle of fish.  Anyone?  Anyone?  Bueller?

You should be able to get an equivalent KnN. The KnN website has an exhaustive list. You can enter dimensions of your current filter and the website will find you a KnN substitute. If you are looking for a conical filter to mount directly on the carburetor equivalent, then it is a different story. 

I put a KnN equivalent in the airbox (with a free flowing exhaust, and carb jetting) in my electra, and it definitely resulted in some torque improvement.

I think that the UCE can benefit from these things.

It seems to me that the UCE has sufficient compression the way it comes, and the indications are that the bottom end is built well. How much power it will hold is unknown to me, but the odds are that it's good enough to push some extra power with it.

So, that means that things like the Power Commander and breathing improvements on the intake and exhaust should yield some good benefits without having to perform engine surgery.

Bottom end is good enough but the connecting rod bottom bearing has to much axial play to start with, resulting in few other issues. I could be wrong though.

Q for Experts, how much axial play in con rod is acceptable? UCE con rod has .20 axial play to start with and I am not comfortable to start with.

I was actually thankful that there was really nothing out there for performance bits so I could keep my wallet in my pocket...wallet's now out and waiting  ;D

Singh Ji, I meant .20mm as quoted in the manual. The last time I got the crank changed, I checked the axial play on the old one and it was .70 at each end. Also had radial movement.

Can the UCE EFI/computer handle a exhaust and freer flowing intake system?

 I was looking at the air box today. I think I could fit the Ace on there (but are the ace still available?!).

It's fine with the exhaust - goes really well with the Watsonian Goldie pipe. Air intake you have to be more careful about. There is a thread here somewhere about why - something to to with turbulence of incoming air.

Its not listed on the manufacturers US website and is listed as "temporarily un available" on Mr.H's website.

I have a friend who got into being a machinist due to nitrous oxide.  He was into smoking pot, and into huffing nitrous, he thought, "gee wally, why don't I find a away to make a device that can combine the two?"  Well he started making a thing to do just that when he "came down" and realized that Nitrous is flammable.  At that point he was hooked on the machining bug and has been doing it ever since.
