Post by: saint45 on October 20, 2010, 03:07:17 am
Hey all-
lookin for some guidance....
New G5 classic and would love some bar end mirrors. i know the bars on G/C5 are different than the other enfields and a lot of product out there wont fit so, please share experiences. High cost is ok cause as long as quality and style are good.
Cheers,Thanx!!!!!!!

Napoleon bare ends (real Napoleons, not knock offs) are great and available in black or chrome.  They are very good quality and work very well, also reasonably priced.  You can toss the inner bar mount and just bolt them up outside the bar end weights with a long bolt and some LocTite.

CRG Hind SIghts are nice too.  You can get the bar end weight turned down by a machinist and mount right to it.  They're pricey and I think they're a little too modern looking for the RE but there's no denying the quality.  another member just posted about them.

On my G-5 I tried several. None, especially the CRGs because they are so small and I didn't like the image quality, were good for quick looks to the side. I have Napoleans on now and agree with above, just get a longer bolt and bolt outside the weight to get the benefit of both. I also ground down the ridge to get it in further. But, that said, the allowed play is not sufficient to give a close view of adjoining lanes. I added quarter size fish-eyes on the corners, but for a quick look to change lanes, I always turn and look. You may have trouble finding real Napoleans as they're having an import problem. I couldn't find them on line but lucked out at DucatiSeattle, the only place that had them in Seattle. Do not get an imitation, they're worse, and only the Napoleans fold in for parking and lane splitting.

+1, I agree with Scotty. I have the real napoleons and they are great. I had the royal enfiled napoleons and they were CRAP, dont buy them.

We sell mirrors that will work with models that have the bar end weights (Electra, G5, and C5) Z90520.

These look like Napoleans ata a good price. If you have a G-5, just remove the expandable rubber mount system, grind down the ridge, get a longer 6mm bolt, and bolt them up outside the weights.

To install Z90520 no modification is needed. The mounting system is different from the picture.
