Title: Oddities in Life.
Post by: 1Blackwolf1 on August 01, 2009, 12:14:57 pm
Okay I admit I can usually see the sense in everything in our modern world.  While at the drive through ATM at the credit union yesterday I looked at the control panel and laughed.  Why are there brail keys on the touch pad?  And how does the user see what his options are?  Definitely a George Carlin moment.

The guy who invented this is one heck of a sailsman, watch out Alska here comes that load of ice you ordered in December.  Will.

Exactly, I'd hate to imagine the possibilities this creates.

My favorite legal instructions:

When I was younger and liked to drive really really fast I had a convertible BMW 2.8L z3 (in "pull me over and arrest me now" candy red, natch. I sold it after my insurance tripled.)

The instruction manual had printed in large letters on the front page:

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MOUNT A ROOF RACK ON THIS VEHICLE.

The blind person sits in the back seat to use the ATM or else is on foot.

I could scarcely believe my eyes on buying a new fishing hat at Academy recently.  I was initially drawn by an attched tag with large script saying "I FLOAT".  Handy , I thought.  At least I'll get it back if it blows off my head.  Closer inspection revealed the unbelievable disclaimer............"NOT a flloatation device!".
Can you imagine hearing the cry, "Throw me a hat, I'm drowning!!"!!!!!!! :D
A bit like labelling my boat "NOT for highway use"

MAYBE..but how does he read the screen for instructions, or how does he know it's there?  Will.
