This may be a dumb question but here goes.....
Can you attach the thick rubber knee pads that are found on the deluxe and military models to the classic? I know you have to screw them onto the tank but are the tanks the same shape?
I like those better than the thin adhesive mounted ones.

No pleasin' us Bullet owners is there! I have the Army one with the thick pads but they do push my knees out a bit so have often wondered about fitting the thinner ones!!! ::)

Exactly right! Folks with painted tanks and front fenders switch to chromed ones, while I would like to go the other direction with the bike I bought that to my eyes has too much chrome on it.
Maybe we should set up a parts exchange place to get these mutual changes addressed in a very cheap way? ;D

We were brought up with 'Meccano' and proper metal stuff too; not the plastic version so yours must be something similar.

Oh boy, oh boy.. I had a meccano set long long ago. It was fantastic - I learned more with that set than I ever did otherwise. We found it very much used in Britain, in about 1958, the French customs had a bit of a problem with it, first time back though.

I haven't seen the Military of Delux models in person yet so I'm just guessing here. But it seems to me the tanks are the same shape. If that's true, then the thicker pads that screw on would be the correct contour to fit a Classic, Electra or 65. No screwqs, no problem. There are plenty of adhesives that would hold those pads on there for ever. Gorilla glue comes to mind. Nasty stuff and won't let go.
Come to think of it, I'd like to have a set of the thicker knee pads on my bike too.

Having just been to a shop where there was an Electra and my 65, both tanks certainly looked the same. I would think that Royal Enfield, India, would have figured out long ago the economics of having as many parts standardized as possible between the models.
