On my 2015 B5 Bullet, the tool box and air filter box lids are too tight to close properly. The locks have been 'adjusted' to compensate so that they stay as closed as they get.

Is there a trick to fixing this issue?

It looks to me as if the lids would fit fine without the sealing trim round the edge.

I put tape around the lip of the box to protect the paint and then used a smooth-jawed adjustable spanner to slowly work my way around the taped profile to gently bend the entire edge inward little by little. Then I removed the tape and assessed the fit. A couple times should do it. It worked very well and no paint was chipped in the process. Patience.

My 2020 Trials has so seal of any sort on tool box or air filter box - they fit perfectly.
Past: CB125-T2, T500, GT500, Speed Triple, 955i Daytona. Now: Royal Enfield Bullet Trials 500

Thanks, I'll give it a try.

Yes, I'm sure these would fit perfectly without a seal. IIRC my 2020 Classic doesn't have a seal. Can't remember, been so long since I saw it!  :(

Euro4 have two seals on the boxes. An outer bead and an inner lip seal.
Euro3 only have the outer bead.

Off route, recalculate?

The nice thing about having only one seal on my Euro 3 Bullet's tool box is that when I overfilled my fuel tank one day the overflow drain was apparently routed to the tool box at the factory. Only having one seal allowed the gasoline from the overflow tube that went into the tool box to easily exit it. Plus, it gave the tools in the kit a nice cleaning.  ::)  Those Royal Enfield factory workers think of everything.  ;)
