After the author made a total idiot of himself at the beginning of the article, I found him hard to take seriously about the rest.

Way to go Autoweak! Stick to the "cages". Royal Enfield never made rifles.

But I thought they made vacuum cleaners.  ;)

But I thought they made vacuum cleaners.  ;)

Possible, they made everything from bicycles through to diesel engines.  :D

Though I do not think they made rifles (clearly a lot of confusion with the Lee Enfield rifle used by the British army in both world wars - named after the RSAF factory that designed it which was based in Enfield, North London. RSAF is now part of BAe systems of Typhoon and Tornado fame).

However Royal Enfield did build a lot of military equipment including the gunsights for a lot of British WWII anti-aircraft guns.  BSA on the other hand actually did make rifles.

The "Made Like A GUN" logo and the Cannon might have helped that rifle making myth. I had always thought "Put A Bullet Between Your Legs" would have been better.

I have a BSA 30.06 hunting rifle, a beautiful thing that kicks like a mule.......superlight.
