I think that will fit any Bullet. Someone on here may know for sure. You'll have to add brackets for the headlight.   ERC

Armando,

that top yoke is from the old 535 Lightning model, it uses a different steering stem and top chrome nuts from the Electra-X and late iron engine Bullet models. I would be interested to know if it works with the Electra-X steering stem and top nut!  That's not very expensive, so you could perhaps afford to experiment.

The Thunderbird top yoke uses a different steering stem to the casquette models, so if the Lightning yoke isn't right, you would need a full set of Thunderbird top and bottom yokes. Just to confuse matters some Thunderbird models use plain-topped fork legs instead of the casquette type fork legs which have about an inch of thread cut into the top where they screw in. And if you were tempted to use the old-style Lightning steering stem/bottom yoke, the factory changed steering lock stops after that model went out of production. Simple? Not quite...

I found an on-line parts book here, if that's any help.

Adrian

Adrian has more experience with AVL work than I do. I just swap the whole t-bird front end on.

Adrian says it MIGHT!  No guarantees, though...  :-X

OK, so 804023 is the right one IF it has the internal treads for the fork tops, if it is you will also need steering stem 804024, Lock Nut 521134/A, Lock Nut 521133/A, 2 x Hex Screw 111251, 2 x washers 111252 (for the fork tops) , and I would suggest Thunderbird headlamp brackets 521131/A and 521132/A to go with the headlamp of your choice!

While you're on the Hitchcock site they do sell all this lot as a complete set, Part No, 92605, price £149.00 + shipping. If ordering DO check these are for the later steering lock stops. You could see if our hosts list this conversion as it might save you money on shipping from the UK. Alternatively, see if any of the Ebay suppliers in India can supply all the parts.

You have to decide whether you prefer the look of the separate headlamp enough to put yourself through all this! I confess that I am no fan of the casquette/nacelle headlamp, whether Royal Enfield, BSA, Triumph or Ariel. My Electra has the Hitchcock Cafe Racer ally top yoke and 50's headlamp brackets kit, the Project bike has the Lightning set-up (similar to the Thunderbird).

Adrian
