Title: Need a G5/B5 volunteer in the Portland, OR area
Post by: Ducati Scotty on April 27, 2012, 08:33:25 pm
I'm looking to disassemble a G5 or B5 fork and take some measurements, of the springs in particular.  I'm talking to Rich Desmond at Sonic Springs.  We've already determined a fork spring that will work for the C5 and he's adding it to their catalog.  The G5 and B5 use a different fork so we can't figure out what to spec.  I'd like to take one apart, take some measurements, and put it back together.  It would probably take about 3 hours total and I'll refill your fork with the proper amount of 10W fork oil at my expense, or any oil of your choosing.

Any volunteers?

Thanks,
Scott

The G5 fork is the exact same thing as the electra ..so that might help. In fact the G5 is the UCE in the electra frame. It's even called electra in Europe.

I was about to dig into the parts books and check that.  Thanks for letting me know.  So it's basically the C5 fork and the other one that every other bike uses?

The B5 has the "ole skool" frame. Any iron barrel, or "classic" bullet frame should work.
