Ordered an M10x1.0 to 1/8 NPT adaptor tonight to check the pressure at the oil temperature point will post some photos when I've tested it hot and cold jyst in case the oil viscosity reduces significantly enough to reduce the pressure it note worthy that when the engine is cold the noise is almost inaudible, but gradually increases with heat this could be two fold the barrel will increase in length and the oil will get thinner, and find it's way out of the system if there are any excessive tolerances reducing pressure, fingers crossed this will work and I will have a definitive results regarding oil pressure and if it should be enough or not to expand the hydraulic lifters.

Blackdog62,

Some interesting pressure readings in this video, might be of help?

I changed Hydraulic tappets and also there was bit play in connecting rod so I changed that too along with the crankshaft bearing.

I can see no reason not to use the temp sensor port?
It's at the same pressure as the filter housing .

I don't think that is right. I think there is a restrictor between the oil pump and the temperature sensor. Worrying about the oil pressure at the temperature sensor is pointless because you are measuring it at the wrong place.

I think this whole conversation about oil pressure is a red herring; I think there is nothing wrong.

Have a good read through this thread:
